Anyone see that article on SBS news? A French consortium headed by Chrisitan Karembeu is looking at gaining entry into the A-League by 2012. Apparently there is no shortage of offers for financial backing from France & also some French clubs said they would be happy to help by loaning young players to the club.

EXCLUSIVE: Canberra’s A-League bid head Ivan Slavich says Canberra will join the National Youth League possibly as early as next season as the capital city’s push for the A-League continues.

Slavich says the FFA have asked them to form a NYL side and he says his bid will front it but it would primarily be funded by the ACT government and local football's governing body, Capital Football.

Canberra's NYL team will not replace the Canberra-based AIS but ...

Having only this season expanded from eight to 10 teams with the inclusion of Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury, the 2010-2011 A-League will further grow with a second Melbourne team ahead of the addition ...

BY CHRIS DUTTON AND MICHAEL INMAN

27/10/2009 7:41:00 AM

The ACT Government is preparing to turn its back on the world game and withdraw its support for Australia's FIFA World Cup bid and future A-League matches.

ACT sport minister Andrew Barr declared yesterday his intention to back out of Football Federation Australia's 2018 or 2022 World Cup bids in favour of luring a separate sporting ''bonanza'' to the capital.

There is an understandable concern that the second Sydney bid is our main competitor - the Meisner bid in particular looks solid and although there may be some slightly suspect business deals in the past, that would hardly count as reasons to exclude. In EPL it is almost a pre-requisite!

But what I keep wondering is what is the state of AFC's disinclination to continue the ...

Watching the Central Coast and Adelaide games to the past couple of days I reckon we'll be in for a great game this Saturday. Both teams lost but it over the past couple of weeks have shown both should be there come finals time.

Looking forward to especially seeing Adelaide players like Dodd, Cristiano, Cassio and Leckie at Bruce stadium.

My predictions for Sat:

Canberra United 2 - CCM 0

Adelaide 3 - CCM 2

What does everyone think??
