31st of October: What can we do?

on Thu Sep 10, 2009 9:19 pm
I really want to see a good crowd and a great atmosphere for the next a-league match in Canberra on the 31st of October. Like the last game there will probably be no advertising so what are we going to do? Confused

just buy a ticket and pray

i honestly believe the a-league4canberra bid team should be doing more in regards to promoting these games. it is in there best interest, they shouldnt leave it in the hands of the ffa. if u want to know why, i wrote it in a different topic so try find it or if u cant be stuffed just look at the result of last fridays crowd of 5193

We have to get the message across, even if we fail in our bid attempt. WE have to make banners- and not just myself and a few of the other mods- but also others on this forum. It is the least we can do.

^^^
We better start now on banners and other stuff because it takes some time.
anything will be good enough even just a sign.

As I am new to the whole push for an a-league team, I am unsure of numbers that are registered with the supporters group. Do we have the numbers to get out in the streets to hold a small but vocal rally outside parliament house. We will get press just because it is at parliament house. We can call on support from local Government with people like Kate Lundy (ACT Member)& Mike Kelly(Federal member for Eden Monaro). I think it is a shame that it has come to this as I believe that Canberra has worked so hard to get this far just to be pushed aside by the likes of FFA. The ACT is the best bid and we still get Jack.

well we had around 40 people at the central coast match but i don't know how many people would be willing to rally outside parliament house.

I think everyone who hasn't bought a foundation membership yet should buy one!!!

Its so vital for the bid that we should all have one, and as quickly as possible as time is running out, quickly!

And you get lots of benefits with the Foundation Membership as well...

So everyone get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah if you haven't got one and are planning to get season memberships then why don't you have one? they pay off in the long term because you get discounts.

we have lot's of time to prepare for this so banners shouldn't be out of the question.

doesn't take much just a can of spray and an old sheet.

Why doesn't Canberra Stadium sponsor our bid and pay off the rest of our capital. ANZ stadium has sponsored and helped the West Sydney bid so why can't Canberra Stadium do the same??

email sent. I also said that we should "up" the advertising for the nest match in Canberra and asked for a general update on the bid. I'll post his response.

Ok, here is the plan. We are gonna make a banner saying:

No A-League team? WTFFA?

I saw they stuck a huge sign outside the Canberra Centre carpark promoting the game.

Yeah I wonder if the FFA/Capital Football or the Mariners intend on doing any more promotion work??
