Crowd predictions for CCM-AU?
Mon Oct 12, 2009 5:28 pm
Considering it is a Saturday, we should get quite a few away fans coming for the game.
IMO we will get 7,000.

For the general sports fan I think alot will depend on the whether on the day + it's live on Foxtel
I am still hoping for 10k but think 7k would be reasonable turn-out

Unless the "home" team - CCM starts to advertise the game here, we will be lucky to pull 5000.
The onus is on them as it's their home gate. They did bog all last time so don't hold your breath.

what he said, really it doesn't matter, as long as we don't get under 5K it doesn't matter TBH.

Probs around 6.5K. Cannot see much of trhe 50/50 Canberra football fans attending. Just the die-hards and travelling away fans. Most will be turned off by the result.

Really we should get a decent crowd- much higher than the Perth-CCM game. This is on a Saturday PLUS the W-League is before it.

A big positive out of all this is that most likely around 400% more people will see canberra united play and possibly when they see how good it is they might be encouraged to come to mckellar

Good news... however just checked the W-League draw and the kick-off is a lot earlier 4.15pm (game is over by 6pm). CCM v AU starts at 7pm??
Hopefully FFA fixes this to reduce the gap between games to make it a real "double header". I hope it'll boost the potential crowd anyway!

^^^
Reminds me of the Toyota Cup in the NRL. A massive gap in time in between. I hope this doesn't effect the crowd numbers.

Crowd predictions for the girls? About the thousand that usually turn up.
For the lads? About 7K. At least 104.7 have been promoting the game - free tickets and the like.
It'd be great to see some flyers or something from Capital Football or the FFA or ANYONE.

Hope to see some immense advertising in the coming fortnight. It has been pretty poor so far that I haven't heard anything.
Hopefully we can get around 7K.

Besides the big sign on the Canberra Centre the only press I have seen so far is in the Canberra Times publishing negative stuff about the FFA and A-League in general. Hopefully Capital Football/Mariners ramp it up in the next week it's an ideal time to be advertising Canberra United "double header" at Bruce.
I wonder if anyone at Capital Football has thought of asking either Central Coast or Adelaide to arrive here a few days earlier to do some promotion work?? at schools, local clubs etc

With the Canberra Times and some of the websites I have seen, I cannot believe what they have been saying. OK, maybe having one or two blogs with small criticism of the decision but to continuosly bring it up cannot be good for the crowd number. And then there was something I read with the author saying he will boycott it.
How is that gonna push for any stronger case.

Don't get your hopes up on that mate, as I'm only seeing W-League billboards around the place at the moment.
