    A-League or World Cup

Post by JohnLovesCanberraUnited on Fri Jul 16, 2010 10:44 am

I was thinking about this before and i wondered wat you guys would think of it

    Canberra A-league team

    or

    World Cup Australia 2022

personally id say the world cup no matter how much i want an a-league team, the world cup in australia would boost soccer so much that a team would be so popular

(this is if we dont get a team in the next few years)

i'm reserving my vote because it's tough, what's the conditions ie if we get a team we can't ever host the world cup/if we host the world cup we can never get a team?

that's tough for me, good hypothetical

I'd definitely say World Cup. And by a fair margin. For the time being, I really don't care as to when we get a team as long as Australian football is in safe hands.

But definitely getting the World Cup. Imagine the economic boost Australia would receive, the legacy of football in the country. It would probably make the sport number one in the country. Getting Australia the World Cup would definitely lead the FFA on to expansion in any case.

i think if we got the world cup, then the a-leagues crowds and quality will go up, so the ffa will expand to canberra and south coast and tassie

But if we could only get one or the other??

It's really hard but im gonna go for the a-league team because it focuses on Canberra and not the whole of Australia. If we got the world cup it would all be on Melbourne and Sydney even though we get games in Canberra. But we do get a new stadium with the world cup. I dunno it's really hard.

if it was one or the other, id say a-league because after the wc we'd be like "great we hosted the wc, now what" but if we had an a-league team we'd have that forever (until it goes bankrupt, jks)
