Another season of making up the numbers in the finals?

on Sat Nov 20, 2010 6:40 pm
I know it is reasonably early on in the season, but it seems like it could end up like last year, where we will stutter along to the finals, and in the end may only finish fourth and come up against a much stronger opponent in Sydney FC, where we will be knocked out. I think the inconsistent form at the start of the year could go down to Junna. The way he utilises players is far too questionable IMO. eg. starting off with Gill, forcing Heyman and Munoz to drop back and when counter attacking having very few options in the final third.

I don't know, but I am finding it hard to see if we will come up with the goods when we play Sydney and an in form Brisbane side.

Thoughts?

Agree totally. Junna is not helping matters in his coaching. They style of play and choice of players is not helping matters. Gill should be starting and remove Perry from the side. Glohe was hopeless last week, but was a bit better today. He needs a total revamp of positions. Again we are stuttering along as you say, and will just make the finals. SHould have a much better team than they are performing.

I think we're also missing what made us "such a force" last year, and that's a settled defence. Losing Studs and bringing in two new backs hasn't helped matters. I think we need to start with Munoz up front with Tseng; they could work well, almost like van Nistelrooy and Solskjaer, but better looking.
Gill needs to start, she plays alot more laterally: hence why we nicknamed her The Crab. Maybe we could be playing a 4-5-1 with Munoz at the top and Tseng coming through?
