In case you aren't a real fan, estadio vicente calderon is the home of Atletico Madrid (i've been there quite nice actually).
they are sitting in the relegation zone and just can't seem to get a win.
are they contenders or pretenders???
Never mind Anfield, what the hell is going on at the Vicente Calderon???

The teams from La Liga are very up and down. One year we see Atletico Mardid challenging for the title, next we see them coming third last.
We see Malaga challenging for Champions League last year, and now they are last. Villareal is another one.
Deportivo are a yo-yo team in the league. One year they have just saved themselves from relegation and the next they are challenging to enter the Europe League.
This year it is Atletico Mardid.
What is going on?

Atletico Madrid could be the Real Betis of last year.
Bu, they are doing woeful. They just don't look convincing.

They have the potential to challenge the top teams, but they just don't seem to be clicking. Why? I have no idea. I don't think they are going to redeem themselves this season, but I am sure we will see a much better Atletico Madrid next season.

This is going to sound biased, Once Fernando Torres left for Liverpool they crashed for a season and then they made a big signing (Diego Forlan) and then they were great again. I think they will survie this season but they need to buy big in January or July
