Wellington

Sun Jul 12, 2009 2:45 pm by Nobby

I have used search and I can't see this being discussed, so apologies if I have missed a pre-existing thread on this.
There is an understandable concern that the second Sydney bid is our main competitor - the Meisner bid in particular looks solid and although there may be some slightly suspect business deals in the past, that would hardly count as reasons to exclude. In EPL it is almost a p...

FRUSTRATED Canberra A-League bid leader Ivan Slavich is on the verge of walking away from his push to secure the capital its own team in the national soccer competition.
More than a month after the sport's governing body Football Federation Australia gave the 12th A-League licenc...

For Shame

Sat Oct 31, 2009 9:50 pm by Proud2BeCanberran

This probably doesn't belong in this section, but I realise that most people look in this sub-forum so I will post in here.

At tonights game between Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United, in the 2nd half I and around 10 others decided to move to the Adelaide United army as there wasn't many other people from the forum with the army.

So we got all the banners tha...

"Our" United

Today's Canberra Times reads "A-League backer on the verge of forfeit". Ivan basically "wants to hear a concrete plan how Canberra will be included by 2012 or he's out".

I am interested in what everyone thinks about the future of football in the ACT?? At this stage I can't see us in by 2012 unless an existing club goes belly up or the AFC gives Wellington the boo...

Matchday Saturday @ Bruce - CCM v AU

Sun Oct 25, 2009 1:38 pm by pete

Watching the Central Coast and Adelaide games to the past couple of days I reckon we'll be in for a great game this Saturday. Both teams lost but it over the past couple of weeks have shown both should be there come finals time.

Looking forward to especially seeing Adelaide players like Dodd, Cristiano, Cassio and Leckie at Bruce stadium.

My predictions for Sat: ...

Considering it is a Saturday, we should get quite a few away fans coming for the game.

IMO we will get 7,000.

Fraser: Wellington likely to be in the A-League next season

Wed Oct 28, 2009 9:39 am by Proud2BeCanberran

Was on Fox Sports News. That Wellington were likely to be in the league next season.

We need a big showing so FIRE UP!!!

Thu Oct 29, 2009 6:47 pm by Golden_CU

I'm serious here in saying that we need a good crowd, and if we get another low crowd like last A-League game, it is nearly time to say goodbye to a Canberra A-League team in the future.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE ALL YOUR MATES, FAMILY, THE RANDOM MAN ON THE STREET, EVERYONE, to get their arse out to Canberra Stadium to show support for Canberra football.

FIRE UP!!!! cmon
