How long will it be before next expansion?

If Western Sydney get the 12th licence, how long will it be before we get another shot at getting our team in the a-league?

TBH i reckon about 3 more years because the FFA want to let the league rest for a bit but they don't want to loose momentum for football in this region.

because tasmania are planning their bid around entering in the 2011-12 season, so hopefully they will have a good enough bid that the FFA will say that there are two great bids on the table, let's give 'em licenses.

That would be good if it was only one year

I really doubt it will be only one year. IMO, for the good of the league, it is best if we take a break from expansion after this round. Ben Buckley has stated this himself.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one year before only one team comes in. If they do not accept Canberra now, then the FFA will hopefully realise that they have left an awesome bid in the lurch.

well the talent depth question will definately be raised in terms of expansion but can you honestly say that the two new clubs have poached players from other a-league clubs that had a reall effect on their previous team's quality?

gold coast have mixed a-league rejects with some returning aussies and look how good they're doing.

NQF, well their recruiters should be sacked so let's not go there.

2 or 3 years. As you said al4c, the talent depth really will be bordering on low. That is why it is important, that if we get a team that we look at getting some of our Canberrans back eg. Kemp, Patafta, T-S, Simunic

After seeing some of the crowd difficulties Gold Coast, Newcastle, Central Coast, North Queensland, Wellington and Brisbane are having, the FFA will want to slow down, especially due to Western Sydney set to be given the nod.

Sill reckon 3 years. Only chance coming before then is if Wellington get the flick.

I don't think that the crowds in gold coast/newcastle/brisbane will have any effect on a canberra or tasmania team coming in, they are completely different areas.

also there's a lot more to running a team than crowds.

I know there is but poor numbers, especially in their start-up games, lead onto financial difficulty. Bar maybe Gold Coast.

I think it will be one more year as Wellington will have to be kicked out soon...
