Canberra United vs Melbourne Victory- Rd 9, Saturday 20th of December, 2008. (Result: Can Utd 3-2 Melb Vic)



Newcastle Jets vs Canberra United- Semi-final, Saturday 10th of January, 2009. (Result: Can Utd 1-0 Newcastle Jets)

The Melbourne game was the season changer and got us into the finals after a pretty ordinary start.
Great crowd, great game, great result.

Yeah, I narrowed it down to two- vs Newcastle Jets and vs Melbourne. I went for Newcastle, simply due to the fact that we travelled 7 hours to get to the game, then there was a large contingent of Canberra fans, with a large of quantity of that support joining the Capital Punishment army. Then got a 1-0 victory.

The team's best: Adelaide at Deakin. 3-0 to make the semis - what a game!
The army's best: Perth at McKellar. Lisa gave us more than a wave.

For sure the Newcastle away game.. at the end of the game it was just ecstasy from the Canberra fans. A good result too, that sent us to the GF.

Yeah Newcastle game which had a really healthy Canberra crowd!!!

I went to the Newy away game last season - there were more CU fans than Jets fans lol.

Just watched that SFC vs CUFC footage - you could tell we were going to get pumped that day. We could've had 25 people on the pitch, they were still running rings around us. Look at the passing triangles in the corner right at the end of the vid - textbook stuff. My FIFA manager would be proud.

That Canberra Utd-Melbourne Victory was unbelievable.
