Listen, don't get excited over it but someone guy on the Melbourne Victory Fans Forum has mail that Canberra have secured the 12th spot for the A-League team and that he "read it somewhere today" He believes it's respectable. But it is just a rumour!!!

Also, The decision for the 12th team is to come in Early July.

Found this on Melbourne Victory Forum:

yeah i just read it, i fear this is true, but as was mentioned there the TV rights aren't renegotiated until 2012 so the TV rights shouldn't come into play this expansion round.

AS I have said on numerous occasions why don't they just go to 13 teams if the Canberra bid is perfect yet the Western Sydney is also good. If they both have great bids then their futures must be pretty secure. Why not?

that's right i don't see how they can turn away this canberra bid with government support something that might not be there in a couple of years if there is a change in government in canberra

It has been talked about. If there are two very good (near perfect bids) then they will surely have to look at having both Western Sydney and Canberra.

yeah that's exactly right, i hope that, like tasmania, if we miss out on the 12th spot we won't drop the bid, rather build on it and get prepared financially as best we can with the extra year or so.

Here, fricken, here.

Even for Western Sydney if there bid is so complete. If you have two great bids, well then hopefully they are destined to succeed.

And yes, the most fearful thing, especially for the Canberra bid is if we do fail, then all will be undone. At least with WS, is that we know that they have the support and will be fine.

I could actually see 13 teams working. If it means the bye, then so be it. That may even be a good thing, as the season will be longer and with the possibility of a FFA Cup coming soon and ACL finals, this will definitely be great.

Anyone, got the guts to send an email to the FFA and ask about the possibility of this?
