definitely the most important game of the season so far. If we win, we are pretty much assured of a place, if we lose, it is all but assured that season 2009/10 is over.

Very very true.
This is our grand final really: all the girls know that, all the staff know that, all the fans know that.
Such a pity Maciejewski won't be playing, we'd really need her size in the midfield. Hopefully Hogg goes out and throws around some elbows like against Perth. 3-1 Canberra (Tseng, Sykes, Perry)

My XI (4-4-2): Williams; Studman, Brush (c), Slatyer, N. Sykes; Perry, Gill, van Egmond, Hogg; Tseng, A. Sykes. Subs: Mara, Veljanovska, Bisset, Kiting.

I like that formation Mikey, you make a good point with the inclusion of Kiting and not Sykes. Also, playing Gill at CDM and Perry on the flank, it means if one of the defenders get injured then we've got two readymade defenders to slot back into place. Slatyer won't last 90 minutes.

Just counted that lineup: 8 internationals. Get that in ya.

IMO Perry is wasted on the "wing". in a 3 man midfield (as we have 4-3-3) she can't afford to make those marauding runs down the flank. push sykes up and drop perry back as her fitness will be crucial in making those overlapping runs. the midfield in 4-3-3 must remain tight, compact and always near eachother for support. the width is created from the front 3 and back for. the centre must always be crowed to mop up any loose balls. the true wingers up front must always use every blade of grass by continually hugging the touchline. this is what the great teams do, as do their great players (messi, ribery and robben come to mind). perry is the only one in the team that knows how to create that space and make well timed overlaps. pushing her more centrally stifles her natural instincts on the park and besides we would loose our best crosser of the ball.

You're right there, but Sykes and Bisset aren't spectacular crossers of the ball, so we really rely on the wingbacks.
