official Canberra A-League team name

What should the official Canberra A-League team be called?

I'd like something along the lines of, Canberra City, or something like that

I really don't mind

united, athletic city even griffins?

You're exactly right Nonno Gomes. Sydney FC are the only ones who really have a right to call themselves united because they somewhat represent the 6 or 7 sydney clubs in the old NSL.

Adelaide had one team in the old NSL so who did they unite?

Canberra aren't uniting anything so i reckon city or athletic.

I say go with Canberra Athletic because we would be the only Athletic in the league. Also, why 1913?

I'm liking the Athletic name. Unique to the league which is a big advantage.

not sure about canberra monaro FC

I always think of the car when I hear the word Monaro, I don't mind Canberra Dynamo, but I think Canberra Athletic sounds better.

canberra dynamo was a joke. And Canberra Athletic is really growing on me.

Same here, for pete's sake lets get a name no one has. we can't repeat the mistakes of the cosmos and try to mould a team and culture on everyone else. lets be canberra a very athletic one at that!

A team name should be based around the city. Canberra Athletic is good as it recognises Canberra as the home of Australian sport in the AIS and its healthy outdoor lifestyle, maybe even Sporting Canberra.

no no no no no. Capital Punishment is the name of the supporters group. It wouldn't be the name of the team.

Canberra Athletic does have a nice ring to it - already a few united's anyway so it would give us some individuality.
