42 people is hardly representative of anything. I recommend you wait till FFA give the green light and then have a re-poll as I would guess more people would become aware of this forum then. I also suggest that we get links to this forum on the A-league 4 Canberra homepage (it was there.. but it isn't any longer) and if possible links from say Canberra newspapers. As it stands not enough of the public is on this forum, we should be pushing to get at least a thousand members.

most a-league clubs only have around 1000 members on their main forums so i think that 92 for a team that not only doesn't exist yet, but hasn't even been accepted yet is fantastic.

as for getting a link in the newspaper, any suggestions?

Yes but I think the people who have registered on this forum should be recognised for their support and have a good opinion in the name and the idea that P2BC threw up should be one that we deserved to get involved in.

I dont know anyone in the paper industry. How about giving leaflets out down in Canberra Center on a couple of weekends, thats how they got the 17000 signatures...

As for the team name you could send to Ivan this poll result though personally I think he would laugh if you only needed 17 people to vote for a team name for that name to be officially adopted. Like I said I think you might as well wait till after we are given a licence.. Melbourne Heart are doing that and I think its best to do likewise. After that then I am sure Ivan and the board would have a few in mind and then we can hopefully put in our pick.

Canberra Athletic is the best name so far, royal canberra fc makes us sound stuck up and shite, and Canberra Athletic has it over Canberra United in terms of originality, it just sounds better
